Breast Enlargement Perth - Choice of Implants
There is a large range of manufacturers and different shaped implants. Some are filled with saline (salt water) and some are filled with silicone gel of different consistencies. They feel different to touch when you examine a sample and when placed into the body they will feel different in each patient, depending on the placement of the implant in front or behind your chest muscle and also depending on how much breast tissue you have to start with.

Breast Enlargement in Front of or Behind the Muscle?
Generally, a breast enlargement looks and feels more natural if the implant is placed behind the muscle. The breast has a more natural outline. This is the preferred placement for patients with small breasts or patients who are very slim undergoing breast enlargement and it interferes less with mammograms.
Patients who want more projection and have adequate breast tissue to camouflage the implant can have the implant placed in front of the muscle but still totally behind the breast tissue. This is a less common method of breast enlargement.
Different Degrees of Cohesiveness in Gel Breast Implants for Breast Enlargement
Within the range of silicone gel filled implants on the market, there are usually three consistencies of stiffness of the silicone gel. The suitability will vary depending on the patient’s build and preferences.

Round or Shaped Breast Enlargement Implants?
A breast is a mobile organ that is meant to be soft and mould to the hand, and our aim is to maintain these characteristics after the breast enlargement. Round implants are usually of soft cohesive gel and feel more like natural breast tissue. Shaped implants are usually filled with stiffer gel and manufactured to maintain a fixed shape. The shape does not change with the position of the body which is not so acceptable to most patients.
